I LOVE COUPONS!!

I've always been skeptical of the coupon thing. How is saving 10cents on a $2.00 product worth all the cutting and prepping of the weekly paper.....well guess what....IT ADDS UP!!
I've been doing this for at least a year and am really perfecting the art and game of it all. Today for instance I set out to save and bought a HUGE, HEAPING, SPILLING OVER cart of two weeks worth of food for only $170. Now some of you might think "big deal"...well here's the big deal....I saved $130 in coupons! hahahaha I love it! It's my own personal triumph! It's a total game to me. I find some odd pleasure in it. Now my 4 ft long receipt is hanging along the kid's crafts on the fridge as my own personal work of art. How's that for finding joy in the little moments?

It's been a long time!

It's been a really long time and a ton has happened since then. Right after that last post I found my life upheavelled and many unplanned and surprising things came marching into my life....suffice it to say that I'm learning, moving forward and really truly focussing on raising my own family in a way pleasing unto the Lord. I'm not one to dwell on the past or stand still for too long, so I'll do as I always seem to do and use today and move forward.

Josh and I had a wonderful time away this week. We went to the coast with his managment team from work. I got to spend a day completely alone in a hotel room while he was in meetings. At first this worried me...I'm not ever alone...but bought a book, some magazines, brought my workout gear and decided to give it a shot! It was fantastic! I ran and did some strength training in the morning and then had a long hot shower lunch and a nap!!! I did some reading too, but really enjoyed it all. The next day was spent with my hubby however, and we had a great time. It was nice to just do as we wanted when we wanted and really concentrate on each other. We ate lunch at a restaurant we both used to work at back in Idaho and talked about old memories and stories from our first years of marriage. We then went to see a movie in the afternoon. As we were driving to the mall for some shopping (our daughter's 2nd birthday is on Sunday) we got caught in traffic....well it was an odd time for traffic and we thought we'd check the Trailblazer's NBA schedule....sure enough there was a game that night....so we took the next exit and decided to get scalper tickets!! We LOVE Blazer games! We had a blast! To top the night off, on the way home we went to see another movie...just because we could....thanks mom for watching the kiddos! We love to be spontanious when we can. It makes things a lot more fun.
The funny part was getting home at 2am and realizing the furnace was out and the heat was not working! Back to reality so quickly...and tomorrow morning we add the kids to the mix again....
Oh well....it was fun while it lasted.
